HOW IS AN ESP COURSE DIFFERENT FROM A GENERAL ENGLISH COURSE?
Unlike general English courses, ESP is not focused on covering all grammar for the sake of passing language exams. Instead, it begins with identifying the specific goals and needs of each learner.
To do this, each student completes a needs analysis form. This form allows the teacher to:
⚡ Understand your current level of English.
⚡ Identify your specific professional language needs.
⚡ Design a personalised learning path that aligns with your role and goals.
Another key difference is the planning phase: the teacher will take time to analyse the responses and prepare a course tailored to the class’s real-world needs.
The course may also be divided into subgroups based on job roles. For example, two waiters may train together more frequently. Some groups may need to focus more on receptive skills (listening and reading), while others may require a balance of receptive and productive skills (speaking and writing). The teaching methods will reflect these varying requirements.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
This course is designed to be highly practical and directly connected to your daily work.
You can expect:
⚡ To bring in real-life job materials for use in class.
⚡ Homework tasks that reflect your actual workplace responsibilities.
⚡ To see noticeable improvements in your job performance as a result of your language training.
Additionally, you will study business-related idioms, phrasal verbs, and develop the level of fluency, eloquence, and pronunciation appropriate to your role.
Unlike standard English courses, ESP courses do not follow a fixed schedule or pricing list, as many factors influence the planning and the service can vary greatly.
After analysing the needs analysis form, we will provide a tailored estimate for course duration and pricing based on your company's specific goals and requirements.
